Working Lands for Wildlife Virtual Event

Date: September 22, 2021

Times: 11AM - 1:30 PM

Registration: https://www.crowdcast.io/e/a-path-forward/register

Presentation summary: This webinar will explore the complexities of forest degradation due to poor forest management and planning. We will gain a basic understanding of land-use history as it pertains to forest degradation and how misconceptions of forest ecology have led to poor forest management. Then we will learn how forest products markets (or lack thereof) play a key role in perpetuating poor forest management. Once we grasp these basic concepts, we will then explore applied research on how to restore and manage degraded hardwood forests moving forward.

Presenters: Dr. John Lhotka, Dr. Jeffrey Larkin, Dr. Alex Finkral, Dr. Callie Schweitzer, Dr. Ralph Nyland, and Bridgett Costanzo.
