Presentation summary:
This webinar will cover ecology and management in hardwood stands of the southeastern U.S., with a focus on timber management. Proper hardwood forest management in the southeastern U.S. is critical to preserving the ecology, health, and vitality of the forest. Poor management tactics (e.g. high-grading) can result in forests with substandard timber and poor health. This webinar will discuss hardwood forest management in the southern states, with an emphasis on proper and accepted management techniques that both promote forest health and productivity.
Presented by: Dr. Wayne Clatterbuck, Professor of Silviculture and Forest Management, University of Tennessee
